![]() I've created shortcuts under Custom Shortcuts KMenuEdit. I have the 4 buttons on the pad set to zoom in/out and undo/redo. I've removed the global shortcuts for them Ģ. As of now I have one pen button as the right click and the other as the pan tool (I created a keyboard shortcut for the pan tool in Krita, as the middle click one doesn't work), but when I use the pan tool, I also need a button to get back to the brush tool. Whilst Zeal and Free42 are ELF 64-bit executables, the other application is a shell script.įor Zeal and Free42 which didn't work, this is how I've circumvented:ġ. I suspect (just a wild guess!) that the trouble has to do with the file contents. I've created the desktop file just like in the case of Free42 described above, but Free42 fails whilst this other application works fine. Strangely enough, another application which I've installed via a shell script, this works fine. Meta+C conflicts with Application Custon Shortucts Service for action Free42 * Free42, which I've installed via a shell script : a global shortcut is created. A message warns that Meta+Z for application Zeal conflicts with action Zeal. Using KMenuEdit for defining shortcuts fails in these cases: Dial Knob, 6 Express Keys Work for Creation, Gimp on Windows11/10/8/7. Using KMenuEdit for defining shortcuts works well, creating global shortcuts for them: You can also assign a shortcut for toggling pen pressure in the keyboard shortcut. I don't know the root cause, but I can enumerate some cases which works well and some cases which fails. In particular, it seems that assigning shortcuts from KMenuEdit works in many circumstances but fails in other circumstances. the keyboard shortcuts don't do anything. But for things like Open File, Save, Close Document, Select All, Deselect, Select Opaque, etc. At least, most of the tools which I can select by clicking a button in the Tool Box panel have working keyboard shortcuts. I've noticed many (if not most) of the broken shortcuts seem to be for functions that you have to pick from the menu bar. ![]() I'm not sure if there's a pattern to the bug or not. It's like for this for about half of every keyboard shortcut in all of Krita. The only way to Undo is from Edit menu, or the Undo History docker. But when I press Ctrl-Z, nothing happens. ![]() The Undo function, for example, is still set to Ctrl-Z. When I open up the keyboard shortcuts dialog (Krita Settings > Configure Shortcuts), the shortcuts I've customized or left at the default setting are still there. The Undo function, for example, is still set to Ctrl-Z. In the past (in Krita 2.8.x) I had problems where Krita would completely forget my custom shortcuts. Then click OK to confirm the changes, and you can now use your new shortcuts going forward. Some of the default keyboard shortcuts, and some of my custom shortcuts don't do anything. You can change as many shortcut keys as you need. You can resize the key and emoji sizes to make it the perfect size for you. Once you have entered valid shortcut keys, the new shortcut appears in the shortcut column. To create a keyboard shortcut, go to Settings > General > Keyboards > Text. You can either reassign the shortcut to this new action or press Cancel and add different shortcut keys. You won’t be able to assign the same shortcut to two different actions, so if you click on the keys you want and they are already assigned to a different shortcut, you will receive an error message. When you click on None, the box will change to Input, indicating that you can press the keys that you want the new shortcut to be. To change the shortcut, click the circle next to Custom to select it, then click on the box that says None. You will see whether there is a default shortcut, such as in my case, which is Ctrl + W for the Close action. First, open the action, and click on the arrow in the shortcut column to access the shortcut options. Whether the action already has an assigned shortcut or not, you can use the same method. To change or add a shortcut, go to the action. You can move through the list and open tabs to find the shortcut you are looking for. Here, you will find the entire list of shortcuts, including actions that don’t currently have shortcut keys assigned to them. Go to the Keyboard Shortcuts tab by clicking on it in the left-hand panel. To change shortcut keys, you need to open the shortcut menu. You can also change existing shortcuts if they don’t suit you. Luckily, you can access the shortcut preferences and either find the shortcut you want or assign a new shortcut to a specific action. If you are looking for a shortcut that wasn’t on the list above, it could be because it was difficult to include every single shortcut available or because the action you want to do doesn’t have an assigned shortcut key(s).
